"Nordic walking needs instruction and guidance if maximum benefits are to be gained.
Kay is an excellent teacher...my friend and I were very impressed with the standard of instruction we received."

"The whole experience from the warm-up at the start, to the cool-down at the end, is a positive and enjoyable one. Kay is professional and well-informed, while the opportunity for socialising as you walk, makes it feel natural and relaxing. Afterwards you are left feeling well-exercised and glowing with good health!"

‘It’s just been so lovely walking in the park today - such a friendly group, and I seem to be getting the hang of it more and more  - I kept feeling like bursting into song!’

"Nordic Walking is a wonderful experience. Great exercise in wonderful surroundings not to forget all that fresh air!! Everyone of all ages and gender should give it a try and you will be hooked! All made possible by the lovely Kay who is great fun, enthusiastic, welcoming and a joy to be with. Thanks Kay."

“After a recent GP blood pressure test, my doctor, surprised at the low readings (lowest for 15 months) asked what I’d been up to.  When I mentioned that I had been Nordic walking that morning, he said that that would be the reason, and he was thinking of taking it up himself!”

...and a lovely letter

Dear Kay

I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how I feel about Nordic Walking and what it is doing for me.

I initially joined your classes to try something new, I have previously tried other organised exercises with little success as they did not really suit me ; I did not enjoy sweating in a gym whilst being told to stretch into completely impossible positions and wearing costumes superman would be familiar with; I did not enjoy being in a swimming pool with a lot of other people trying to exercise in what felt like a washing machine; I am too much of a coward to get out on the roads cycling.

I enjoy walking and Nordic Walking seemed to be a better match for me. I have a metal plate in my ankle and am at high risk of suffering from osteoporosis, so was aware that I needed to do some form of exercise to protect myself for the future. I also wanted to lose weight, get fitter and meet some new people.  And I have to say I have achieved these latter three things in a relatively short time.

But I have got more than these things out of your classes. I feel more energised, and motivated to walk several times a week.  I feel healthier mentally and physically and quietly smug as we walk around happily whilst other exercisers don’t really look as if they are enjoying themselves at all ! I really look forward to Wednesday mornings in Bushy Park.
And the great thing is that I can keep Nordic Walking up for the rest of my life – which cannot necessarily be said for other forms of exercise.

You are a pleasure to work with, always happy and very patient with us all.  Thank you for introducing me to a most enjoyable mode of exercise, which really suits me and my poles down to the ground !

Regards
Maura
